A second crash involving three vehicles at rush hour in Glasgow on Tuesday closed two lanes of the M8 on the Kingston Bridge.
Traffic Scotland said the collision on the crossing over the Clyde on the approach to Junction 20 had forced the closure of two lanes.
Drivers are being warned of delays of over 17 minutes after the crash took place at around 9am on Tuesday.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.05am on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, police were called to the M8 at Kingston Bridge, following a report of a three-vehicle crash.
“Police remain at the scene and recovery will be arranged.”
A Traffic Scotland statement read: “The M8 Westbound at J20 is currently restricted due to a road traffic incident.
“Motorists are advised to approach with caution and expect delays in the area.”
The incident follows another crash involving three vehicles on the M74 near Rutherglen at around 7.44am on Tuesday which blocked one lane.
Emergency services responded to the scene at the Polmadie Road slip-off.
The Scottish Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment on both incidents.
