A police officer who was injured after a man stabbed six people at a Glasgow hotel is now in a stable condition
Armed police shot the man dead after multiple people were injured at the Park Inn Hotel on West George Street in the city on Friday.
Six people are in hospital, including 42-year-old police officer David Whyte.
PC Whyte is now in a stable condition at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
The First Minister has said her thoughts are with those injured in the “terrible” attack.
She tweeted: “My thoughts today remain with Constable Whyte – whose bravery we are all deeply grateful for – and the other people who sustained injuries in yesterday’s terrible incident.
“I wish them all a full and speedy recovery.”
Three other people who were injured were asylum seekers staying at the Park Inn Hotel, where the incident took place.
The two other people who were injured were hotel staff.
All of them remain in hospital, with one in a critical but stable condition, and two stable at Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
Two others are in stable conditions at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the attack or have footage of the incident to contact them.
