Humza Yousaf facing FMQs as more school strikes announced

The First Minister is taking questions from MSPs at the Scottish Parliament.

Humza Yousaf is taking questions from MSPs as more schools are set to close due to striking council workers.

On Wednesday, Unison announced schools across another four local authority areas will face industrial action from support staff amid a continuing dispute over pay.

Walk-outs had already been planned at four separate councils, bringing the total taking action to eight.

The First Minister also faces FMQs just days after the boss of Ferguson Marine told MSPs that £35m had been spent on redesigning Scotland’s two delayed and over-budget ferries.

The Glen Sannox – and its sister vessel the Glen Rosa – have been beset by issues which have seen multi-year delays and cost overruns which have put the final price at £360m, compared with the initial £97m price tag when the contract was signed.
