Police have confirmed the identity of a man who died following a crash on a single-track road in Moray.
James Leonard Meek from Sunderland was riding a blue Yamaha R6 motorcycle when the smash occurred on June 4.
He crashed on the stretch between the B9012 at Upper Knockando and B9010 at Dallas near Tapp Farm at around 10.30am.
The 27-year-old was given treatment at the scene from emergency crews but was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
No other vehicles are understood to have been involved in the crash.
His family have expressed their “sincere thanks and gratitude” to motorists and members of the public who assisted at the scene in a statement released by Police Scotland.
Officers are now appealing for eyewitnesses to confirm the circumstances of the crash.
Road policing sergeant Peter Henderson said, “Our thoughts are with James’ family and friends at this sad time. Enquiries are ongoing and I ask anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened to please get in touch.
“Drivers who may have captured dashcam footage of the vehicle are also being urged to come forward. Anyone with information can contact police on 101 quoting reference 1276 of June 4, 2022.”
