UPDATE: Man dies in crash between truck and lorry on A1
A major road in the Borders has been closed after a crash with people urged to avoid the area.
A collision between a truck and a lorry took place on the A1 at Eyemouth at around 3.30am on Thursday.
At 9.40am the road remained closed with police directing traffic and no estimated time for it being re-opened.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a crash involving a truck and a lorry on the A1 north of Eyemouth, around 3.30am on Thursday, January 19, 2023.
“Emergency services are currently in attendance. The road is closed and diversions are in place and drivers are asked to avoid the area.”
Also in the Borders, a collision on the A68 at around 8.50am northbound at Earlston has blocked the road.
The route was shut in both directions with an ambulance on the scene by 8.55am and police directing traffic.
