A man has died in a crash between a truck and a lorry on a major road in the Scottish Borders.
The 50-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene on the A1 near Eyemouth shortly after 3.15am on Thursday morning.
Officers shut down the road for almost 12 hours while an initial investigation into the incident took place.
It eventually reopened at around 2.15pm.
No one else is thought to have been injured.
A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed: “We received a report of a crash involving a truck and a lorry on the A1 north of Eyemouth, around 3.30am on Thursday, January 19.
“Emergency services attended and a 50-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no reports of any other injuries.
“Enquiries into the crash are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 0282 of January 19.”
