Five people were taken to hospital after three-car collision in East Lothian.

The crash happened on A6094 between Wallyford and Dalkeith at around 2.40pm on Monday.

A grey Lamborghini Gallardo, a maroon Ford Focus and a green Ford Fiesta were all involved in the incident.

The Lamborghini had been travelling southbound on the A1 and left at the Wallyford junction before travelling on the A6094 towards Whitecraig.

The Ford Focus, followed by the Ford Fiesta, were travelling in the opposite direction before the collision near the Whitecraig roundabout.

Police, ambulance and fire services attended and three men and two women were taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

The road was closed until 8pm on Monday to allow accident investigators to carry out inquiries.

Constable Julie Bishop, who is based in Dalkeith, said: "Our inquiries into this matter are ongoing and I would be interested to hear from anyone who saw these vehicles prior to the collision to contact police."
