A man has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a nine-year-old girl in Lincolnshire.
Lillia Valutyte was killed in the Fountain Lane area of Boston on Thursday after being discovered with the wound.
Police initially arrested two people over the death, however both have since been released with no further action taken.
A 22-year-old man has now been detained by officers after a CCTV image was circulated on Saturday.
No one else is being sought in connection with the incident.
“Officers detained the man in the Boston Central Park area at around 2.45pm today (July 30),” a spokesperson said.
“The arrest follows a combination of intelligence and information supplied by several members of the public. We’d like to thank everyone for their assistance as we continue our investigation. We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.”
They added: “There will continue to be a significant police presence in the town while our investigation progresses.
“We are still encouraging anyone with information to contact us. You can do so via the major incident portal.”
