Ryan Giggs will face a re-trial next year after a jury was unable to reach verdicts on domestic abuse charges.
The former Manchester United player faces charges of using coercive and controlling behaviour on his ex-girlfriend, Kate Greville.
Giggs is alleged to have headbutted Greville in November 2020 and elbowed her sister in the jaw.
He has denied all the charges.
At Manchester Crown Court on Wednesday, a new trial date was set for July 31, 2023.
Jurors had first gone out to consider verdicts late on the afternoon of August 23 in the case.
The jury of 12 was later reduced to 11 after one juror went sick and was discharged.
