An Arsenal player is among six people to have been stabbed during an attack at a shopping centre in Milan.
Pablo Mari, currently on loan at Serie A side Monza, was taken to hospital following the attack.
Sky Italy has reported that the 29-year-old centre back is conscious.
The condition of the other five victims is currently unknown.
A 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the attack, and investigators have ruled out terrorism, according to reports.
Arsenal released a statement on the incident, revealing Mari is not “seriously hurt”.
It read: “We are all shocked to hear the dreadful news about the stabbing in Italy, which has put a number of people in hospital including our on-loan centre-back Pablo Mari.
“We have been in contact with Pablo’s agent who has told us he’s in hospital and is not seriously hurt.
“Our thoughts are with Pablo and the other victims of this dreadful incident.”
