Cadbury has scrapped another product four years after it was first launched.

The confectionary giant has announced that its Dairy Milk 30% Less Sugar treat will soon be removed from supermarket shelves.

It comes after the brand axed individual mini bags of Dairy Milk Buttons after over 60 years of sales and stopped making Easter Egg N Spoon cartons earlier this year.

Dairy Milk 30% Less Sugar launched four years ago but due to a “drop in demand” the product will no longer be made.

One X, formerly known as Twitter, used asked Sainsburys whether the chocolate bar would be coming back into stock to which they responded that it would put the customer on an alert for the product.

However, a spokesperson for Mondelez, Cadbury’s parent company, has now confirmed the sad news that the product won’t be returning.

“In 2019, we launched Cadbury Dairy Milk 30% Less Sugar following significant investment over three years,” they said.

“We not only invested heavily in developing a bar that consumers told us tasted great – but also in promoting it through a nationwide marketing campaign.

“Despite these efforts, demand for this product has dropped and we have sadly taken the decision to delist it.

“We understand that some consumers will be disappointed by this news, but they can rest assured that we will continue to invest and innovate and bring more well-being choices to our consumers.

“We have recently launched Cadbury Dairy Milk Fruiter and Nuttier – an innovative new line which is lower in sugar and saturated fat and higher in fibre and protein than an individual serving of Cadbury Dairy Milk Fruit & Nut Chocolate and Cadbury Delights – a delicious new range of confectionary under 100 calories per bar.”

Cadbury isn’t the only company pulling products with competitors Mars discontinuing its Dark Bounty and shrinking the size of the classic Galaxy bar due to manufacturing costs.
