Three children have been killed in a shooting at a private Christian school in Nashville on Monday.
Metro Nashville PD have confirmed that the suspected gunman is also dead.
All three children had gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead on arrival at the Monroe Carell Junior Children’s Hospital, officials confirmed.
It was not clear whether anyone else was wounded in the attack.
The shooting occurred at The Covenant School, and students were later walked to safety to a nearby church to be reunited with their parents.
The Nashville Fire Department said earlier there were “multiple patients” but their conditions were not clear.
The gunman died after being “engaged by” officers, police said in a Twitter post.
The Covenant School has an enrolment of about 200 students from pre-school to sixth grade (toddlers to 13 years old), and was founded as a ministry of Covenant Presbyterian Church in 2001, according to its website.
