Animal Rebellion protestors pour milk over shop floors across UK

Activists took part in co-ordinated action.

Protestors from Animal Rebellion have poured milk onto the floor of shops across the UK to campaign for a plant-based future.

Activists took part in co-ordinated action in supermarkets including Waitrose, Marks & Spencer and Whole Foods on Saturday.

In footage posted online, members of the group could be seen opening several cartons in a Waitrose store in Edinburgh’s Morningside and pouring the milk out onto the ground.

The group has argued that the dairy industry is “incredibly environmentally destructive” as it stated that a plant-based future would help eliminate a major cause of climate change.

A total of eight locations were chosen by activists for the pouring of milk.

As well as the Waitrose store in Edinburgh, they were; Waitrose stores in Oxford Street and Belgravia, Fortnum & Mason in Piccadilly, Harrods in Knightsbridge, and Whole Foods in Piccadilly, all in London, as well as Marks & Spencer stores in Manchester and Norwich.
