Woman’s body found inside Greenock property as officers probe ‘sudden’ death

A probe into the sudden death of a woman is under way, after police discovered a body in Inverclyde.

Officers were called to a property on Belville Street, Greenock, at around 11.45am on February 21.

The woman is believed to have died suddenly, with police confirming her death was being treated as unexplained.

It is currently unknown if there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of the sudden death of a woman at a property on Belville Street, Greenock, around 11.45m on February 21.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
