A woman has been taken to hospital after her car collided with a school bus in East Ayrshire.

Emergency services were called to the B713, near to the village of Catrine, after receiving reports of a two car crash at around 8.15am on Friday.

Officers confirmed that a 37-year-old woman was taken to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment.

Her current condition is unknown.

It is believed all pupils on board the bus are safe and well.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to a report of a two-vehicle crash on the B713 near to the village of Catrine, East Ayrshire around 8.15am on Friday, September 9.

“The road was closed for a short time to allow for vehicle recovery.

“A 37-year-old woman was taken to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment.”
