Woman seriously injured in hospital after being struck by car

A woman has been seriously injured after she was struck by a car in Glasgow.

The incident happened on Prospecthill Road, Toryglen, at around 7.55pm on Sunday.

The 52-year-old pedestrian was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

Police confirmed that a 39-year-old man was arrested in connection and was later released pending further enquiries into the crash.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.55pm on Sunday, 6 March, officers were called to a crash involving a pedestrian and a car on Prospecthill Road, Glasgow.

“The 52-year-old female pedestrian was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

“A 39-year-old man was arrested in connection with a road traffic offence and was released pending further enquiries.”
