Woman fighting for life after motorcycle crash

The 57-year-old was riding a Yamaha Virago before losing control of the bike at a roundabout in Stirling.

A woman is fighting for her life after crashing her motorbike in Stirling.

The 57-year-old was riding her Yamaha Virago bike on Pirnhall Stirling Services roundabout when the crash took place at around 4.45pm on Sunday.

It appears she lost control of the vehicle which then left the roadway near the A872 junction.

Emergency services attended and the injured woman was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where she is being treated for serious injuries.

Hospital staff describe her condition as critical and police are now appealing for information.

Sergeant David Marr said:  “Our enquiries are continuing to establish the cause of this crash and I would appeal to anyone with information to come forward.

“This is a very busy roundabout next to the local motorway services, and I am urging any witnesses or anyone who was driving there around the time of the crash who has dash-cam footage to contact us.”
