Police are investigating after a woman was dragged from a city centre street into a lane and assaulted.
The 23-year-old was on Glasgow’s Buchanan Street when she was attacked by a man just before midnight on Wednesday.
The man grabbed her and forced her down the lane between George Street and Buchanan Street where he made an attempt to pull her clothes off.
He only stopped when she fought back and kneed him on the groin before running to safety.
She was then helped into a taxi home by a group who were passing by.
The police were informed of the incident and an investigation has now been launched as they look to trace the man responsible.
A spokesperson for the force said: “We have received a report of an assault on a 23-year-old woman that had taken place in George Street, Glasgow.
“Police enquiries are ongoing.”
