A woman has been killed after being hit by a car in Glasgow.

The 58-year-old pedestrian was struck by a Peugeot on Dougrie Road, in Castlemilk, at around 7.30pm on Wednesday.

A number of people stopped at the scene but when emergency services attended she was pronounced dead.

The man driving the Peugeot did not require medical treatment, police said.

Officers are appealing for witnesses following the fatal crash.

Constable Derek Niven, of Glasgow’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Although we have spoken to a number of people who stopped to help at the scene, we would still like to hear from anyone who witnessed the crash.

“If you have any information that may assist our enquiries, for example any dash-cam footage, then please get in touch.”

Anyone who can help is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3283 of Wednesday, March 8, 2023.
