A woman has denied murdering a man on New Year’s Day.

Stephanie Bowie, 28, is accused of knifing to death Darren Russell on January 1, 2021.

The charge lists two locations in Erskine, Renfrewshire – Barsail Primary School and a path near the Grill in the Park Bar.

It is claimed Bowie did repeatedly strike the 21-year-old on the body with a knife.

Prosecutors allege before this, the accused – along with 18-year-old Mark Bowie – punched Mr Russell, made threats, kicked him, brandished a blade and chased him.

Both are separately accused of attempting to defeat the ends of justice after the alleged murder.

Stephanie Bowie further faces charges of having a knife, presenting a blade at a man and assaulting a woman.

She is also accused of acting with Gary Howieson, 31, in attacking a man at a house in East Kilbride on February 10, 2021.

Howieson and Mark Bowie pled not guilty during a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow on Tuesday.

The case was adjourned until October.
