A woman has been raped by three men on an Ayrshire street.
The 28-year-old victim was walking along Glebe Place, in Saltcoats when she was attacked by the gang at around 7.30pm on Sunday.
Police are now appealing for witnesses as they hunt the men responsible.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman confirmed the incident.
She said: “Police received a report of a serious sexual assault which took place on Glebe Place, Saltcoats around 7.30pm on Sunday.
“A 28-year-old woman was walking on Glebe Place near to Glebe Street when she was approached by three men and subjected to a serious sexual assault.
“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.”
