A suspect has appeared in court charged with the attempted murder of a woman who fell from a flat window in North Ayrshire.

Fiona Taylor, 41, was arrested and charged after a 49-year-old woman was found seriously injured near a property on Glasgow Street in Ardrossan at around 10am on Thursday.

The woman was rushed to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment where medical staff has described her condition as stable.

Taylor, of Ardrossan, was charged with assault to severe injury, disfigurement, impairment, danger to life and attempted murder.

She made no plea or declaration as she appeared before Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Friday.

She will next appear before court within eight days.
