Drivers were forced to stop after a woman and a child in a pram ended up in the middle of a Dumfries and Galloway road during an attack.
The incident happened in Annan Road, Gretna, at around 3pm on Thursday.
The woman was walking along the street with three children, one of whom was in a pram, when she was approached by another woman.
During the assault the victim and pram ended up on the roadway, causing motorists to stop.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Thankfully the children weren’t harmed during the incident, but the woman suffered minor injuries.
“If you saw this incident take place, we would like to hear from you.”
