Warning issued to drivers as city centre traffic lights go down

A warning has been issued after traffic lights across Glasgow City Centre have gone down following a power outage overnight.

Glasgow City Council issued a warning on Sunday that there are “numerous” signal failures across the city.

It is unknown how many junctions are affected.

The authority confirmed this is due to electricity spikes and outages overnight.

Engineers are attending these sites and restoring them back to operational condition.

Glasgow City Council have urged drivers to be cautious at this time.
