Two teenage boys arrested over man's death after 'mass disturbance'

A 15-year-old and 17-year-old were arrested after warrants were carried out on December 14.

Two teenagers arrested over death of Stuart McGeachie after ‘mass disturbance’ in Rutherglen Police Scotland

Two teenagers have become the fourth and fifth people to be arrested following the death of a man after a “mass disturbance” in Rutherglen.

On December 14, police investigating the death of 38-year-old Stuart McGeachie arrested a 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy after warrants were executed in Rutherglen and Cambuslang.

Officers were called to reports of a disturbance on Farmeloan Road, at the junction with Victoria Street, at around 7pm on Tuesday, October 24.

Mr McGeachie was assaulted outside a premises on Farmeloan Road before making his way to a nearby flat where he was pronounced dead. 

Three men have previously been charged in connection with the incident.

Enquiries remain ongoing.
