Teenager left in hospital after assault near train station

Two men, aged 16 and 17, have been arrested and charged in connection with the assault in Helensburgh.

Two teenagers have been arrested and charged in connection with the assault of a 17-year-old in Helensburgh.

A 17-year-old boy was assaulted on West Princess Street, near the train station, at around 10.50pm on Saturday, September 16.

He was taken to the Royal Alexandria Hospital for treatment to “serious injuries”.

Two male youths, aged 16 and 17, have been arrested and charged in connection with the assault.

They appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Monday.

Detective constable Calum Hall said: “This was a serious assault and our enquires are continuing. There were a lot of people around at the time of the incident and we are keen to speak to anyone who has not already been in touch with officers.
