Two police officers were taken to hospital after a disturbance in East Dunbartonshire.

They had been called to a a property in Townhead, Kirkintilloch, shortly after 10.50pm on Friday.

A 27-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy were arrested and charged in connection with the incident. They are both due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.

The officers were injured during the incident and taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary. They have since been released following treatment.

Chief inspector Lorna Gibson said: “A report was received of a disturbance within a property at Townhead in Kirkintilloch shortly after 10.50pm on Friday, July 10.

“Two males – aged 27 and 14 – have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. Reports will be submitted to the relevant authorities.

“The 27-year-old will appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, July 13, from custody. The 14-year-old has been released on an undertaking, also to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.

“Two male police officers were injured during the incident and were taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary. Both have subsequently been released following treatment.”
