Two men have been stabbed during a disturbance on a busy street in South Lanarkshire.
Both victims were attacked in Rutherglen in the space of just five minutes at around 3.30pm on Tuesday.
The first incident took place on King Street at around 3.20pm when a 35-year-old was assaulted, then at 3.25pm a 37-year-old was attacked near to the Superbuys store on nearby Main Street.
Emergency services attended and both men were taken to hospital in Glasgow where they are being treated for stab wounds.
Police are now looking for the attackers who are described as being in their early 20s and wearing all dark clothing.
Detective Constable Derek Young at Cambuslang CID said: “We have very limited information regarding the motive for these assaults and can only describe the suspects as being men in their early 20’s who were wearing dark clothing.
“I am keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time these assaults took place and may have witnessed the incidents or anyone who may have captured them on their dash cams.”
