Two men have been taken to hospital after they were injured during a brawl on a busy South Lanarkshire street.
Police were called to the disturbance on Rutherglen Main Street near to its junction with Farmeloan Road after the incident was reported at around 3.30pm on Tuesday.
The men were taken to hospital in Glasgow where they are being treated for their injuries, the extent of which are still unknown.
A large police presence was reported in the area as teams of officers tried to contain the disturbance that stretched down as far as King Street.
The ambulance service was also in attendance.
A spokeswoman for the force confirmed the incident and said that enquires are ongoing.
She said: “Two men were taken to hospital following a disturbance on Rutherglen Main Street.
“There are currently no updates on their condition.”
