Two men have been charged after allegedly being “armed with machetes fighting” in Greenock.
Armed police were called to Weir Street at around 9.30pm on Sunday following reports of the incident.
Two men – aged 45 and 48 – were arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
Officers said no one was injured as a result.
Both men are due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Monday.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.30pm on Sunday, May 12, 2024 police attended a report of men armed with machetes fighting in Weir Street, Greenock.
“No-one was injured and two men aged 48 and 45 years have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
“They are due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Monday, May 13, 2024.
“A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
