TRNSMT in pictures as Glasgow Green festival kicks off

The early birds are streaming in as Scotland's biggest music festival kicks off

The TRNSMT gates are officially open with eager Scots flocking in for a weekend of music and fun.

Paolo Nutini, The Strokes and Lewis Capaldi will be headlining Scotland’s biggest music festival with thousands expected to head to Glasgow Green over the next couple of days.

The early birds are already getting into festival mode with bright coloured outfits, sunglasses and bucket hats as the first acts of the day take to the stage.

Unfortunately, any hopes of basking in sunshine could be met with disappointment.

Met Office forecasts overcast conditions today, with temperatures reaching 18C.

Saturday is expected to be much of the same, with cloudy skies, temperatures of 19C predicted and a 10% chance of rain throughout the day.

Similarly, grey skies are expected on Sunday coupled with 18C temperatures and very little chance of rain.
