British Transport Police are investigating the incident that took place on the Glasgow to Lanark service.

A man has been threatened with a weapon and robbed of his bike on a train in Lanarkshire.

The victim was travelling between Bellshill and Carluke on the Glasgow to Lanark service on Tuesday, October 26 when the robbery took place.

At around 4.30pm he was approached by a man who brandished a weapon at him before forcefully stealing his bike.

British Transport Police are now investigating the incident and are appealing for witnesses.

The suspect is described as being slim, around 6ft tall with dirty blonde curly hair and between 25 and 30 years old

On the day of the incident he was wearing a black jumper and was with a woman.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, recognise the description of the suspect or are able to assist their enquiries in any way.
