Travellers in Milngavie, East Dunbartonshire, were faced with delays on Monday after a heavy goods vehicle got stuck underneath a railway bridge.

Police closed the A81 Glasgow Road at its junction with Auchenhowie Road after the vehicle came into contact with a railway bridge near Allander Water.

Train services were also delayed or cancelled as emergency services dealt with the incident.

ScotRail later said that emergency services had declared the site safe, allowing services to resume.
