A West Dunbartonshire woman nicknamed Mrs Christmas has scooped more than £66,000 on the People’s Postcode Lottery.
Elaine Cusick, 69, landed the prize after her Old Kilpatrick community won a combined jackpot of £1m on Saturday.
The Christmas super fan and mum of two has now promised her family a “jingle bell ball” and a Hawaii holiday following the lottery win.
She said: “I can give all the family a great Christmas.
“I would have Christmas all year round if I could. But this year it will be amazing.
“During Covid the first time we could get together was in July 2021, and I had Christmas in the garden. I did it all up.
“The family are all calling me Mrs Christmas.”
Elaine’s husband Eddie, 61, added: “Our daughter Lynsey is hosting Christmas this year, but we’ll make sure the spread is all there for her.”
Elaine shared the £1m jackpot with 14 neighbours in Old Kilpatrick, Dunbartonshire, after G60 5NN landed Postcode Lottery’s weekly Millionaire Street prize.
She originally signed up a year ago in the hope of winning to pay for granddaughter Maya Brogan’s knee operation, following a string of delays.
However, the 22-year-old finally got her operation in September after it had been cancelled three times – just weeks before her gran’s win.
Maya, a support worker for adults with learning difficulties, added: “It was a very intricate operation on my right knee. The doctors have said that this will hopefully balance things out.”
Elaine added: “I started playing a year ago this month. This is lovely. I never expected that amount of money in a million years.”
