A third person has been arrested in connection with the attempted murder of a man in Balloch.
A 23-year-old man was attacked on Dalvait Road in the town around 3.05am on Wednesday.
He was taken to hospital for treatment to a serious head injury.
Two men, aged 26 and 28, were previously arrested and charged with alleged attempted murder and have made a first appearance in court.
On Friday, police confirmed a third man, aged 35, has been arrested in connection to the incident.
He has been released pending further investigations.
