Two teenagers have been charged with allegedly possessing knives after police were called to a town centre in Renfrewshire.

Officers said they received several calls from “concerned” members of the public over the alleged behaviour of two boys in Renfrew on Monday.

Police responded and arrested two 17-year-olds, before publishing images of the knives reportedly recovered online.

A spokesperson said: “Both 17-year-old males were arrested and subsequently released to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court at a later date.”
