A teenager has been left with a head injury after being struck with a metal pole in a broad daylight attack on a Glasgow street.
The 19-year-old was on Quarrybrae Street, Parkhead, when he was attacked by another man who assaulted him with the weapon.
The incident, which police believe to be targeted, took place at around 2.20pm on Sunday.
Emergency services attended and the victim was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he was treated for his injuries.
Investigating officers are now appealing for witnesses and are particularly looking to speak to two women who walked past when the assault when was taking place
A spokesperson for the force said: “The assault is believed to be a targeted attack and that there is nothing to suggest any threat to the wider public.
“Police would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the vicinity of Quarrybrae Street at the time the assault occurred and in particular two woman who were seen to walk past at this time.
“Anyone who has any information that could assist enquiries is asked to contact Shettleston Police Office.”
