A teenager has been left in hospital following a suspected hit-and-run in Glasgow.

The 17-year-old was injured when his Vauxhall Corsa was struck by an unknown vehicle in a crash on Gartloch Road shortly after 8.00am on Friday morning.

The driver of the other car failed to stop following the incident and drove off before emergency crews arrived on the scene.

Officers have since launched an investigation into the collision but said the probe was at an early stage.

The 17-year-old has been taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8am on Friday, June 17, police were called to Gartloch Road in Glasgow, following a report of a road crash involving a Vauxhall Corsa and an unknown car.

“The latter vehicle did not stop and a 17-year-old man was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash.”
