A teenager has been charged following an alleged attempted murder in North Lanarkshire.

On Wednesday, November 1, police were called to Glencalder Crescent in Bellshill after two men, both aged 26, were found injured.

They were rushed to hospital for treatment.

A 17-year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and was expected to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Tuesday November 7.

Police said that enquiries into the incident were ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 17-year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted murder which happened in the Glencalder Crescent area of Bellshill on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. 

“He was expected to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. 

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
