A teenage boy has died after getting into difficulty in the River Clyde in South Lanarkshire.

Emergency services were called to the scene near Garrion Bridge in Larkhill on Sunday around 3.15pm.

However the 13-year-old was pronounced dead.

Police said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the boy’s death.

A police spokesperson said: “A 13-year-old boy has died after getting into difficulty in the River Clyde, near Garrion Bridge in Larkhall.  

“Emergency services were contacted around 3.15pm on Sunday, 13 June, 2021.  

“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.”
