A man has appeared in court accused of abduction, assault to injury and permanent disfigurement, and robbery.

The suspect was arrested and charged after emergency services responded to an incident at around 9.25pm last Thursday, December 2.

Police said they received a report of three men being assaulted by a group of men in Broomlands Street at Maxwellton Street in Paisley, Renfrewshire, and in Baljaffray Road in Bearsden, East Dunbartonshire.

On Wednesday, a force spokesperson said: “A 25-year-old has been arrested and charged in connection with an abduction and assault in Paisley.”

Connor Dawson made no plea when he appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday.

The 25-year-old faces two charges of assault and a further charge of abduction, assault to injury and permanent disfigurement, and robbery.

Dawson, of Paisley, was remanded in custody and is due to return to court on Tuesday, December 14.
