A road that was closed for emergency repairs sparked by it sinking will reopen earlier than expected.
North Street at the major junction with the Clydeside Expressway, the M8 and Argyle Street under the Kingston Bridge was shut on Monday morning.
Glasgow City Council’s traffic information bulletin said urgent repairs were needed due to “carriageway subsidence”.
The closure was expected to remain in place until Saturday morning with drivers advised to avoid the area – one of the city’s busiest intersections.
But on Thursday evening, an update announced the road would reopen at 7am on Friday.
