Second teen charged over 'attempted murder' of 16-year-old boy

An altercation led to the teenager being assaulted and stabbed before being rushed to hospital.

A second teen has been charged in connection with the attempted murder of a 16-year-old boy in Renfrewshire.

Police were called to the scene in the Thorn Court area of Johnstone after the schoolboy was approached by two males at a bus stop on Wednesday, September 13.

An altercation led to the teenager being assaulted and stabbed before being rushed to hospital.

Medical staff have described his condition as stable.

The 18-year-old man was due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.

Another 18-year-old man has already been arrested and charged and was due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Friday, September 15, 2023.
