Second man charged in connection with death of teenager Amber Gibson Police Scotland

A second man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of Amber Gibson.

The 16-year-old girl was reported missing from Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, after failing to return home on Friday, November 26.

Her body was eventually discovered in the town’s Cadzow Glen park on the morning of Sunday, November 28.

Amber’s 19-year-old brother, Connor Gibson has already been arrested, charged and appeared in court in connection with the death.

Police have now confirmed a 43-year-old man is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

Last month Gibson was charged with murder and sexual assault under section two of the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act 2009.

He was also charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice.

He made no plea when he appeared in the dock.

Gibson was remanded in custody pending his next court appearance, which is yet to be confirmed.
