The search for a missing woman after an incident in Glasgow’s River Kelvin on Wednesday night has entered its third day.
Emergency services were called to a report of concern for two people in the water near to Eldon Street in the city’s West End shortly before 6pm on October 11.
A man was rescued by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.
Police confirmed that a search for a 59-year-old woman is still ongoing.
On Thursday, police were seen searching the water in kayaks as part of the efforts to find the woman.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.45pm on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, we received a report of concern for two people in the water at the River Kelvin, near to Eldon Street, Glasgow.
”A man was rescued by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
“Searches are ongoing for a 59-year-old woman who remains missing.”
