A search is under way for a 85-year-old man believed to have driven 400 miles away from home in Jaguar sports car.
Herbert Sidebottom was last seen in the Beachway area of his hometown Largs, in North Ayrshire, at around 10.45am on Monday.
Police said he is believed to have travelled in a black Jaguar XF sport to the Weston Super Mare, North Somerset area of England.
The car has the registration SB69 UWD.
Mr Sidebottom is described as being around 5ft 10in, of slim build with grey hair, and wearing glasses.
Sergeant Nikki Nolan said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to trace Herbert and we are appealing to anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference 3520 of February 12, 2024.”
