A Scottish boxer has died in hospital following a motorbike crash in Cumbernauld.

Andrew Tham was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle when it was involved in a crash with a Hyundai Tucson car near to Lenziemill Road on May 30.

The 28-year-old was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he died on Sunday, June 2.

Police are urging anyone with information regarding the collision to come forward.

Sergeant Gemma Blackadder from the Road Policing Unit at Motherwell said: “Our thoughts are very much with Andrew’s family and friends at what is a very difficult time for them.

“Enquiries into the full circumstances of this crash continue.

“If you believe you have information that will assist our enquiries or if you have any dashcam footage, please contact 101 quoting incident number 3307 of May 30.”
