Rail services from Glasgow have been disrupted after damaged power cables became tangled on a train.

Due to damage to the overhead power lines at Lanark station, ScotRail services running between Glasgow Central and Lanark will only be able to run between Glasgow and Wishaw until the issue has been resolved.

Ticket acceptance is in place on the number 41 JMB bus between Motherwell and Lanark.

The 25,000 volt power cables at Lanark station became loose in the early hours of Saturday morning, Network Rail said.

It added that engineers were on site, but repairs are expected to take a few hours and in the meantime no trains can get in or out of the station.
