A gang of teenagers assaulted and spat on a ScotRail conductor at a South Lanarkshire train station.
Youngsters began verbally abusing the woman on the East Kilbride to Glasgow Central service, then targeted her on the platform at Hairmyres station around 4pm on Sunday.
Members of the group pushed the worker and two teenage boys spat at her. Several minutes later, a teenage girl approached her and continued to verbally abuse her.
Police say the group consisted of around five or six teenagers, between the ages of 14-16.
The first male is described as white, of slim build and wearing a grey hoody with tracksuit bottoms. The second had a round face, of slim build and with short dark hair, wearing a dark tracksuit.
The third had tanned skin, was of slim build, with dark eyes and wearing a dark tracksuit with grey on it. The fourth was a white male of slim build, with short dark hair, wearing a white and navy tracksuit top and bottoms.
The female from the group is described as white, of slim build, and with dark hair in a ponytail.
British Transport Police said officers were looking to speak to anyone who may have information.
A spokesperson said: “Witnesses, or anyone with information, can contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 320 of 27/02/22.
“Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
