The owner of a £57.8m EuroMillions ticket bought in South Ayrshire has received their winnings.
Camelot confirmed that the life-changing jackpot for the March 17 draw had been validated and paid out.
Despite the winning numbers being drawn six months ago, the ticket was unclaimed until the last minute.
Winners have 180 days to claim their lottery winnings, but as the cut-off loomed on Sunday night, it seemed as if the money would go to charity.
But on Monday morning, Camelot said they were checking a claim, which has now been verified.
Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at The National Lottery, said: “We’re delighted that we’ve been able to pay out this amazing EuroMillions jackpot prize to the lucky ticket holder.
“We hope that they will enjoy their win.
“By buying a ticket for EuroMillions or any other National Lottery game, every player is helping to raise money for good causes. “
